First day of Summer and with the great weather we headed to Washington Pass in hopes of Doing a Ski/Climb Combo of Southwest Buttress and a quick ski down the chute to the hairpin.  We started around 7:30 at Blue lake trailhead and head for the avy chute.  Snow was continuous for the most part.  Just two carries one quick one where the avy chute opens up and another quick carry right before the slabs where it steepens and narrows.  Overall the snow was fine for skinning.  Climbing was fun! and after we retrieved our skis we quickly skin up to take a run down the chute towards the hairpin.  We hit it at 6:20pm and the snow was just prefect for 99% of the way down.  Soft corn on top with right about of hardness underneath.  Seconds after clipping out of ski boots, I stuck out thumb and was able to score a ride back to the trailhead.  What way to kickoff summer :)

Ps.  Snow is melting out fast soon you will have to carry more but I think you've got a week or two left of skiing up there.
