Took a ski on Colchuck Sunday, and it is still good to the lake. I started up on snow where the trail ends in the bolder field, and managed to work my way up to the terminal moraine, had a short carry there then all the way to the col on snow. Came down skiers right all the way to the water, won't last long though if that's on your list better get going, creamy dreamy corn for the first 1500 of so. Bolder hop back to the trail is a grind as usual.
Good day out.! How early in the day did you hit the trailhead? That Colchuck trail hurts my knees - but at least I know the shortcut.
On the trail at 0710 at the col at 1115.
