Road now passable with any car to 3600' level and continuous snow.  West slopes had nice 1-3" corn. Lots of revelers made a fine boot pack.  Snow is less grabby than earlier this week.  Puffy clouds and cool breeze plus perfect drive and snow conditions made today the best of Silver season.  Coverage is receding quickly.   https://vimeo.com/96378705  https://vimeo.com/96378977

Found a rib therapist on our return to the cars, perfect timing! ;)
lots of rib therapy yesterday!

Skiing off the back side was very nice.  But the melting seems to be about 2 weeks earlier than last year.  It was great to see Silas filling all of his usual roles in the Silver Peak clan: party host, cheerleader, DJ, chocolate dispenser, and drill instructor.  Seeing him cruise up the bootpack made me wonder: Is it possible that broken ribs make you go faster?

Great day, with the perfect balance of road melt and tour cover! And good fun with old friends as well as new. I recall this tour being pretty quiet on a typical weekend back a decade or so ago, but with the internet starting bell becoming more ingrained, it has become quite festive as soon as the road clears! This is also nice for getting any bumpy lines smoothed out, having a hacked in highway of an uptrack up onto the steeps of the ridge, and a killer stairway of kicked steps up the west slopes!

Silas, looks like great fun. I don't know how you could convene a quorum, with all the folks from the west side skiing at Washington Pass, but it looks like you did.  If you make a trip over this way give a shout.
