Andy and I scooted out to Pilchuck this morning with the dogs to see if Oyvind was lying about being able to ski within 200 vertical feet of the car.

Maybe on Tuesday you could, and maybe with Oyvind's admittedly much better knowledge of Pilchuck's ins and outs.  Either way, we had a super fun time and watching the dogs shred Gunsight was a riot - Hopi has no real concept of sluff management.  Thankfully we'd cleaned it off for her and she happily surfed her way down.

Encountered easy booting snow at about 1.25 miles and pretty continuous to the summit.  Good consolidation with 4 inches of mushy corn that slid easily on steeper pitches, but was easily controlled.  By far the biggest concern is the copious glide cracks that are opening up in Gunsight and on the ridge skier's right (Larrison?) that holds the good skiing.  Easy enough for skiers to avoid, but required good attention to the puppies so they didn't wander.

That's a big puppy!

Ha!  The camera adds 65 pounds.
