3-4 May, Crestone couloirs
« on: 05/06/14, 07:11 AM »

Found some motivation to go skiing for a change.  Found epic snow on north then south-facing steeps two days in the mountains above Crestone.

Crestone Peak

Somehow the couloir had powdery snow then good corn without ever being too sloppy or sticky.

Crestone Needle

Moving slower, summited much later, but wind kept the snow reasonable.

I think you need to have a slide alder delivery made in the approach before you ski these, or maybe slack line over a river with skis on your back, it just seems entirely too straight forward!  Wink
