Pretty good snow. Not great but ... pretty good. Ski pen 1 or 2 inches. A little mushy sure and somewhat dirty but not nearly as grabby as I had feared would be after these three hot days. And the layer under the soft inch+ was quite firm and good for carving and skidding. The advantage of a year of skier compaction, no telling what true BC snow is like nearby (I did not sample).
Started about 4:30 so Triple 60 was already coming into the shade (and by 6:30 it was cloudy to the west even while still pretty nice to the east.) Did 5 laps of the steeper part above the two beginner chairs, skinning up Parachute, and tried out 4 of the runs (Parachute proper was good enough to do twice, Revenge was also fun.) No other skiers seen all day. Warm at 4:30 but breeze built and by end (gasp!) I had to put a layer on over t shirt and shorts. A fine evening and avoided the incoming weather; was raining (pretty hard showers too) while driving home on 90 just 10 minutes after I quit.
Lower flat part was sticky. Also not much snow there, at times was skiing on literally just two inches of that last many times refrozen on the ground. May soon be longer and longer dirt walks from bottom. But much more snow than that available on the Triple 60 steeps.
Ski area meltout swag found today, listed in ascending order of possible intrinsic value:
* A guitar pick (wtf?)
* Single liner glove (paging OJ)
* Someone's electronic carkey (bet their day did not go well after losing that)
* Goggle bag (hey, makes a nice ditty bag)
* Single Scott downhill pole (right length at least)
* Chinese knockoff gopro style camera (it might even still work!)
