Planned a trip with a bigger group, but high avalanche warning changed the plan.  Decided to do an early tour with my daughter on the lower mountain.  Had to hike ~ 2miles before we could skin.  Conditions turned out to be very good and several parties worked their way to the rim.  It was a little mushy, but with crampons it was no problem.  Many the steeper slopes were breaking loose, but the main climbing route up the Worm was ok (even with 83 degrees in the parking lot).  Several sections we have remove our skis to cross (up to 4K).

Had lunch at 6000, took pictures and had to head back to Seattle.  All-in-all a very fun great.

Where's the best place to park and start from at this point?

I would try to get as close as you can to 3800 feet.  I not sure of the options, normally this time of the year there is more snow at Marble parking.

Just a guess but parking at the climbers biv road gate and biking up the road might be an option.
