The Plan - A Reasonable Loop
As I was slogging up the very low angle Mill Valley - and wondering why I was doing a 5 mile "nordic" approach for a very short ski, I thought back to wonderful Trip Report our friend Mike Rolfs recently wrote about his road hike around Mount Stuart. I immediately realized that I could be on the start of another "Rolfs Adventure" and I had to help him and his bushwhacking friend out.
Attached is a "redlined topo" that should keep Mike on track as he slogs up the valley, fights his way down the buzzing powerlines, and returns via the very aerobic and thrilling Stevens Pass Hiway. Though the road walking is not as much as he hiked on the Icicle Creek Road, I think the narrow shoulders and constant rockfall danger should make up for that! I've also attached a couple of pictures that could bring back memories! You can thank me for this new loop later...
Enjoy!
