Went exploring today up the Tower Mountain drainage. Ended up skiing a line view able from the road between tower mountain and one of its subpeaks. We had wanted to ski a line further up next to the summit proper but it had ripped out with the warm weather and didn't leave much snow on the line for us to ski.

Good snow still above 2350m on shaded, sheltered aspects. Moderate winds at ridgetop. The snow down low below treeline is now turning full on isothermal and is somewhat unpleasant.

It is in Kananaskis Country on the north side of the valley between Mount Engadine and Tower Mountain. You can see it from where the road crosses the creek. Best to send up the creek till you come to an impassable waterfall (or before if you have magic waterfall sensing powers) and then skin on the south facing slopes just above the creek in the nice burnt trees till you get into the valley proper.

I love the third photo

Good thing there's no wind loading around there,eh?

BTW good pickin!

Thanks for the tr and pics--LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!

Looks like Mr. Wexler revisited this line in May. He also got to bag the summit ramp line to the top of Tower Mountain after it refilled with the sticky spring snow. Some great terrain photos in here for anyone who is considering skiing around Tower Mountain. http://www.globalalpine.com/2014/05/spring-ski-lines-in-k-country.html
