This is a few days old but I haven't seen an Ellinor report all winter.
We drove to within a couple hundred meters of the upper trailhead. There's hardly a patch of snow before that, and we were starting to wonder how much we'd be skiing. After crossing a short but deep patch of snow, we were back on dirt for at least half a mile. We put our skis where the winter trail peels off toward the Ellinor Chute. Ten minutes later, we put our skis on our packs and booted the rest of the way to the summit.
We managed to do nearly 1,500 feet of fun skiing, but it probably won't be worth it for much longer. There's not as much snow as in the Cascades, but coverage isn't bad in the chute. However, the glissade track is nearly a foot deep in places, which makes the narrow parts of the chute less fun.
There's a couple more photos, and a TR from Vesper Peak at the beginning of April here: Oliverlazenby.wordpress.com
