A friend and I rode sleds from 29 Pines to Esmeralda on Friday afternoon, parked at the summer trailhead and skinned to Longs Pass. We set up camp and enjoyed a cold beverage during a fantastic sunset.

On Saturday, we descended into Ingalls creek and found a good snowbridge crossing, then cramponed up the Cascadian (in excellent climbing conditions) to near the false summit.

We pondered the final pitch to the false summit, but passed it up due to warm sun and worry over wet-slidiness during the descent. In hindsight, we should have continued to the true summit and skied Ullrich's later in the day, as did Good2Go's party of three, but we had not planned for it and thus did not take careful note of the route beforehand.

We skied the SE chute all the way to Ingalls creek in wonderful, fast, smooth corn... somewhere around 4500ft of vertical.

After refilling our water bottles at the creek, we skinned back up to our camp through Turnpike basin.

Three splitboarders arrived at Longs pass in the evening, after skinning ten miles up the Teanaway! They were fairly cheerful despite the slog, and wasted no time in descending to Ingalls creek.

We saw them Sunday morning hauling ass up the Cascadian to the summit. Strong crew!

On Sunday we skied a morning corn run into Turnpike basin, then returned to camp to pack up.

To return to the snowmobiles, we skied the south facing slope from the high point just west of Longs pass.

A fantastic weekend.
Awesome.  You guys did it right.

Nice climb and pictures!

What were the road conditions past 29 Pines? Was it even close to melting out to the Bean/Beverly turnoff?

I have a thread in the road conditions/central cascades for information about Teanaway access. I would appreciate any info you have. Thanks.
