WA Cascades West Slopes South (Mt Rainier)

Road open 24/7 now.
We slept in thinking we would roll through as the gate opened... oh well. Light clouds and wind kept the snow fairly firm everywhere on the way up. Hard snow remained on the upper portion of the snowfield. Softening only well after Anvil Rocks... for a few thousand feet of great skiing down to and including Pan face. Below that was fairly heavy, but still very enjoyable. Bouncing across the runnels was actually quite fun.
Will upload some pictures tomorrow... suffice it to say that it was a nice day out on the mtn. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and less cloud cover, so likely much more soft snow to be had...

And a word to those who descend via Mazama Ridge - they've plowed the Paradise Road (but still no car access). Prepare to walk (not skin) back to the car.
