BAM! Another fantastic 40K Spring day. In fact, the best. I can't remember a time that Crystal has had better corn snow. Usually this time of year, it's still damp snow falling from the sky. But this year, the clear, freeze/thaw cycles of the last week or so have created great spring snow. When it thawed this morning (about 10:30), corn snow everywhere and it stayed that way all day with no stickiness. Everything was going off from Memorial to Greg's Gulch, Breakover, Showtime left, center, and right, and the doors. I even did a run down the left side of the avie debris in Little Portillo for kicks. And the several runs out Kelley's Gap were a blast because they groomed Sluiceway and Berry Patch. Very fast, carvable slush to Lower E where it was very big moguls of carvable slush with some new bare spots thrown in to keep it interesting. Towards the end of the day, got locked into the run that's between Upper Bull Run and Iceberg that angles back into the bottom of Iceberg. It was smooth, fast, steep, carvable corn the whole way. Not really sure how many times we did it because it got kinda blurry towards the end of the day.

It looks like we only have a couple more days of this weather pattern before we return to the normal end-of-regular-season weather we normally have.

On a side note, ran into a guy that's been skiing at the Summit all season. His son talked him into coming up to Crystal today. He said his son was a lot smarter than he realized and today was his top day of the year. He couldn't stop smiling. Love that!

Perfectly consolidated, perfectly softened, perfectly corned. We dug trenches in one area, moved left and then right. Repeat. Outside the ropes was likely awesome, as the few unskied areas we found were smooth creamed corn. The most fun spring day in years.

Lots of wet sluff exposing grass and rocks, which will grow like weeds in the sun the next couple days. Lack of heat will be very unkind.
