It is so nice to have road open 7x24 now we are in April!
Parked lower pullout base Maggies Sunrise area approx 4,700 ft, skin-on 8:00 AM. 27 degree overnight freeze had things super solid. Ski crampons necessary for the ups; was planning to lap the longest line to the road from sunrise ridge, but things didn't soften fast (few cirrus), so traversed ridge to 6K level below Mt. Angeles to let it cook, and that it did...by abt 10:30 on East and South slopes... hero corn with an exit abt 11:00 AM. I bet North slopes will corn up this weekend.

Good plan, David. Leaving the car at 8 am on HR qualifies as an alpine start ::)
David:
Thanks for the report. We need to get out eh?
Now that the road is open 24 hours and 7 days I might be able to sneak in a dawn patrol or two. I've really been wanting to get out into the Olympics this season and haven't yet.
