For my September turns I headed up to Mount Timpanogos. I started up the trail head at about 11:15pm and made it to the snow about 2. I did not hike up to emerald lake like the other people I saw with snowboards. I would have needed an earlier start. Anyway I skied a fair sized patch(300 feet) on the rock field before the final steep part up to the lake. The snow was really hard with an inch of soft stuff on top. I am thinking of heading back next week to hit the area higher up.Got a joy-o-meter of 19% 300 feet skied to 1590 climbed over 2 miles.
Looks better than what we have in the Cascades right now  ;)

Wow - your alpine start is quite impressive!

err, I meant am. though I did pash people coming down who left at 2am.

I'll take that patch any day over the Paradise Pond Slide of last weekend!

Here's to a lowering of the snow level long enough to cover all of the boulders to a sufficient depth!!

Ahhh, my old stomping grounds.
That is the place we had to go for Sept. turns.
There hasn't been snow there this late for almost 10 years.
That is awesome!!! Hopefully we can get some of that stuff this year.
