03/24 Whistler

Yesterday's sun gave way to overcast skies. Skied a couple runs on Blackcomb waiting for the P2P open. Once it did, we had a bucket to ourselves over to the Whistler side. Headed to Harmony Bowl. The new 6-pack is very nice with a huge concrete building next to the bottom of the lift where they park the chairs at night. All nicely automated with zig-zagging chair tracks inside the building. The vis in Harmony was tough due to the flat light, so over to the Emerald chair for some runs until the vis improved. Several runs on the peak chair were had before lunch. Nice big carvable bumps top to bottom. After lunch, did the obligatory West Bowl off the Peak Chair to connect up with the Peak to Creek run for a run to the bottom of Creekside. A good leg burner. Headed back to Harmony Bowl to find great visibility. Find a line through the cornices on the skier right side of the bowl and wooohoooo! Steep and bumpy. Finish the run down a very bumped up McConkey's for a great run. Repeat many times.

To end the day, headed back over to Blackcomb on an empty bucket for a final run down the Couloir. LD rocked it again. She's skiing strong and finished with a 37K day. Yesterday's 40K was a lifetime best for her.

Tomorrow, snow flurries are forecast above 1300 meters. Could be a wet ride up the Wizard in the morning.

Man, I love this place.
