Took my avy ops 1 course this week at Kootenay Pass. Did a lot of digging and taking weather obs, was pretty fun.
Conditions ranged from terrible breakable crust at the start of the week to 30cm on top of the crust when I left today. Skiing will probably be superb there tomorrow. Feb 10th layer present on all aspects, we found it to be most reactive on south facing thin slopes.
