March 10, 2014, Mt Rainier ,Paradise Mazama ridge

Gary Vogt and I passed the open gate at 9;27 arrived at paradise lot covered in 2" snow.  Bottom line fresh snow 6" over a styrofoam crust . 6" ski pentration to said crust with a powder basket able to bust through to unknown depths. Skied mostly the tourist western route on Mazama all by ourselves. Skied ok but will be heavier tomorrow when the sun comes out. Snowed perhaps another inch or two while we were there. Flat light with occasional sun peep. Given the forecast for tuesday and wed I'd be very careful of wet glop slides.

edit: Just looked at the temps for overnight and it could dry out a little tonight and crust should  toughen a bit which would help .
