Very good day of freshies. There was cold light snow all over. Dug a pit at 5000' on the eastern of the two high points---the obvious crust from last week was about a foot down. It separated slightly as we isolated the column but didn't come apart until C13 and was very well bonded. No weak layers to speak of as far down as we dug.
The skiing was uneven up high, with tree bombs and unpredictable crust, but mostly skied superbly. 1-2 feet of high-flying pow! It snowed steadily all day. We saw plenty of other skiers but the woods absorb them easily.
Unfortunately, the traffic was tortoise-like on the way down, all the way to Sultan. Sahara Pizza has good grinders, and our dinner stop probably didn't lengthen the 5-hour return to Kitsap County. It was still the lightest and deepest day of my season. :) :) :)

Mac, Glad you could get out! I wish I could have joined you. But I did get my deep freshies the weekend before that! Then I skied at Stevens with my fam for the first time and thought about you the whole time. "I wonder where mac shreds?"

Ha! The number has been in my phone for several years. :)
We called Rico's from the Pass and got no answer, then when we when pulled in we found that their power had been knocked out.

Yeah mac. No power in gold bar most of sunday. Had a lot of snow saturday, then it turned to freezing rain. Ick. Nice way to spend the day with the mother in law. ::)
