Looks like there was significant warming in the Southwest part of the Cascades by the looks of telemetry. You can see clearly the frontal boundary across the state on visible satellite. Areas below the boundary saw temps in the mid to upper 30's while above the boundary temps stayed in the mid 20's with areas like the summit of Mission Ridge just making 30 degrees last night before the temps fell. Curious to see how this affects the snow in areas to the south.

It was turning to rain (freezing rain) at 4:30pm yesterday at Hyak. This morning we were froze up, and nasty crust on the snow. Save yourself a trip, don't hike up today cuz it will not be fun.

If that low pressure system comes ashore where it is longitudinally right now then there will be serious snowfall at Mission for the next few days. Looks like it has run in to some strong high pressure, though.

The snow this weekend at Mission will be from an arctic front, so from the north. After yesterday's warming it will be dust on coral reef unless is snows a foot or more.

Yeah the low pressure system slid to the south. We're staying home. Coral reef!?
Another weak layer?

Oh I think it will snow, but Sunday and Monday are the best bets for off piste. The grromers should be nice tomorrow and Sunday morning. It was so soft and wet on Thursday that the off piste got trenched and covered with chicken heads and roller balls and then froze solid( coral reef).
