Today up to around 3,600, I put together some nice safe turns around hiway 97. The snowpack is very shallow 12-18" and has a very smooth and firm crust holding it together. With only 3-4" of new snow on top today, it made for some very nice turns. I still stuck on mellow terrain between 20 and 25 degrees. The one steeper slope I skied at the bottom still held together nicely - I'm sure because there was really less than a foot of coverage. Tomorrow will be great unless it snows too much as the top layer will slide on the crust for sure.
