Thought I'd put this out there for any locals wondering about conditions after the lastest storm (cross posted from TGR):

I'll echo the spookiness of the snow pack today. In the hwy 97 corridor had several "whoomps" and cracks near ridge line and tree line. Dug several CT and ECTs, which usually resulted in the new snow (~25-35 cm) failing at Ct/ECT 7. No propagation in the ECT. Q1 shear. I stuck to 20-25 degree trees and had no problems with stability and really enjoyable pow skiing.

Pits were all dug between 5000-5500 on NE to E aspects. Winds were blowing up near ridge lines.

Thanks for the report.  I see you just moved to Wenatchee.  Hope to get to ski with you one of these days.

Here is Jeff Ward's report at Stevens Pass for same day:  spooky.
