Today conditions allowed for me to check a long standing tour off the list: Mount Kalama.  Skiable conditions on Mount Kalama are rare, but everything came together early this morning, making for a perfect tour of about 750 vertical feet.

Hut Life!

It's funny, I've knocked some long standing tours off the list this year despite the challenging conditions: Nisqually Chutes, Van Trump Park, and Table Mountain, but this one may be the most satisfying.
Pretty cool, man - way to go! Wondering if the hut is open to public ;- )

This was all part of the master plan.  Now that I posted a trip report of this previously secret stash, I expect the TAY hordes to show up en masse.  The hut is open to the public, but isn't exactly cheap  ;D.

running forest park i spied a few drops I'd like to take.  enough snow in the trees yet?  :)

Mount Kalama is open for night skiing!

Delicious weather in Portland this weekend! I'm holed up in a N Portland hotel, helping my daughter ready for midterms. It was sunny all day in Bremerton when I drove down yesterday. Wish I brought my skis for those study breaks...
