My heavy duty girlfriend and I made a ski circumnavigation of Crater lake last weekend by the rim-drive route (33 miles, ~8000'). We found fast skinning conditions on consolidated snow with very little exposed ground.

Contrary to prior reports we thought that clockwise was the way to go for sure. Additionally, other reports of the record at 8 hrs are poorly researched. 6.5 hours appears to have been accomplished by multiple parties.

Very nice; must have been a winter wonderland.
Nice pics. Props for doing it on AT gear. You are strong. Amazing how thin the snow is on the backside.
Epic, lucky you. I think I gonna go there in may, June. Have you been there then, thanks
Well, that's big. And excellent conditions too it looks like. Way to aim high.
Looks beautiful. You may find a different way to describe your girlfriend other than "heavy duty" though. They seem to frown on that sort of thing.
Nice job. Jealous.
