February 2, 2014, Skyline Ridge

Given the avy forecast of more danger on northerly slopes, it seemed like a good day to ski the SW side of skyline ridge. We scoped the diving board but chickened out in favor of entering nearer to the lake, skiers left. Really good snow. 2nd run was from diving board proper and had more wind effect...oops. Should have stayed on the left.

Interesting group of postholers camped at the diving board. And I thought snowshoers messed up a skin track. The road back up to the parking lot was also postholed. Perhaps it is time to setup a "snowshoes for postholio" fund.

Incredible to see an unfilled stevens parking lot to celebrate super bowl Sunday....and the drive through gold bar at 40 mph was phenomenal.
