1/29/14 Alpental

Sorry for such a late report. Was there for opening bell today, which was 925, not bad.

Only really started to snow at the Pass and you could tell there was warm air out there. At least 8 inches new but not obvious from the trees. That thick dense snow.

Started to get a bit wet about 10, but then started to head back. When I left at 1115 or so I thought it would stay snow all day. Looked that way from the cam until about 6 PM, when it seemed to get warm.

Nash was open, skied nicely. But all the new slid on the old bone, so lots of debris, some of which skied nicely. But that last comment is only reflective of the bad year it has been.

Meaning if it was a good year today would have been a 5 or 6. Since it has been a bad year it is a 8. LOL.

Love that last comment Griff! I feel like I've said a lot in the last two weeks something along the lines of "Yeah, today was great and the coverage is actually pretty good.........well.......relative to THIS season!"

IMHO, today was on par with every opening day since becoming a passholder several years ago*

*I wasn't a passholder during the 04-05 season. Which never happened in the first place...
