OK, if you're tired of all the gloomy reports of sucky epic conditions....This is in fact a happy report ;D! Seeking crowd avoidance and superb corn, Mr. Wong, my son Jeremy, and I were richly rewarded. Amazing, the three of us had the entire south back from Castle to Unicorn to ourselves..... 2-3 " of perfect corn, no sluffing, no boiler plate, no ice, no white knuckles, no puckered sphincters...all entirely non-epic-- thoroughly enjoyable skiing! A couple laps...then sadly, if not for the silly NPS 5 o'clock gate roll call, we would have lapped yet again. BTW-the north side bowl below Castle skis OK, the trees/glades down to Reflection Lake not so fun, but the breakable crust seems to have disappeared and become firm.
