We left the Yodelin overflow parking area by 9am and it was almost 40 degrees. Ducked into the trees at the end of Stevens Road and followed Nason Creek for about a half mile. Its been really warm and I was getting worried we wouldn't find a good spot to cross the creek. By the time we found a good place to cross we were actually at the perfect spot to starting heading north toward the summit.
The snow in shaded areas down low had a pretty thick crust. The higher up out of the trees we got the softer the crust layer became.
The last 1000 vertical feet had been in the sun all morning, which made for good spring skiing conditions but made the up track super slick.
After enjoying some lunch on the summit we ripped the skins and skied the south face. The snow was soft corn and the terrain was super fun! Would have made another lap back to the summit but had to get home early. Ill definitely come back once we get some more snow!
heres a little youtube video i made: http://youtu.be/39Vht7MAprk
