Got a 9am start and stopped at about 7000'. The hike in was about 1/2-1 mile before skinning became possible. It was pants droppingly hot in the trenches. The skin track followed just climbers right of the normal winter route. The wind picked up at about 6500' and was keeping the snow firm above that. Headed down around 3pm after the rodeo. Lots of bull riding was to be had by all. Below 6500' the snow was excellent. Lots of exposed and hidden rocks - watch out for the death cookies. Pretty sure each of us scored a free base grind or two.
