With the warm imminent weather forcasted for Thurs.,and lack of fresh snow, I was enlisted to join a few mates to do a little tour out of Paradise.
With a 10:15 WARM parking lot start, after dropping a shuttle car at the Nisqually bridge, we headed up and dropped onto the Nisqually Glacier (very well covered and no route finding difficulties were found). Skinned up to a high point of 10'600' on the Turtle, enjoyed the camaraderie of friends, and skied off into a our 6k ski descent around 4pm.
Snow was a little wind scoured and icy till about 9500', where it turned to smooth buttery corn.
The only place we found crummy snow ( breakable crust) was on the S.E. facing Moraine dropping into the Nisqually drainage at about 4800'
If winter gives you Lemons... grow Corn.
Get it while its good!

Way to pick it man! That's one great looking sunset cruise. I'm pretty open for the next couple of weeks if you have anything going on. I still don't think I have any snow at my cabin on 97!

Yeah, we saw Tara and Carl's car parked at the bridge and figured a big ski was up!

Thanks for Nisqually update.

Thanks for the report and great photos!

Saw the ranger stopped at your Glacier Bridge vehicle after he barked at us for being seven minutes late leaving Paradise.  I'm curious if you retrieved the Paradise vehicle that evening?

Rad!

Much better then turtle soup.

All vehicles were retrived that evening  :)

Awesome day everyone!

Here are a few more pics from the day...

Thanks for sharing and the great pictures. That sunset snowboard shot was so pretty and I shared it on my Freeride Facebook page. Let me know if you want credit  ;)

Scott; I here "turtle" soup is quite tasty. Not as good as "Shark Fin" soup, though...  ;D
Griff; That is a Rad page! You can use the pic, if I get 50% of all royalties produced by said picture.  :D Actually, my friends took way better pics...
Here's a shaggy little video edit:

Of course brother, check is on it's way. Seriously thanks a lot it was such a great shot. I look more for artistry and beauty in shots than it being the coolest or biggest or baddest. Though sometimes they both come together.

Appreciate the kind words. I enjoy sharing my long love affair of skiing with anyone that will listen.
