Went on the annual UBCO VOCO trip to Keefer Lake Lodge.

Some people went in early on Friday and reported excellent light snow in the glades below Yeoward Mtn.
I went in on Saturday and encountered rapidly rising freezing levels going up to 1400m. Called the day early while trudging up the valley to the usual glades below Yeoward and put in a quick lap above the large cut block instead before heading back to the lodge. Others who went to the head of the valley reported good skiing above 1700m.
Woke up to 10-15cm of new cold snow at the lodge with another 15cm falling during the day. Was on the lake going towards Yeoward but our group had a change of heart. We struck out for the old growth forest zone that has a decent 250m worth of vertical fall line skiing a km down the road from the lodge. Snow skied well between our lap elevations of 1350-1600m. Our friends that went up Yeaward reported blinding blower but we were happy with our choice of laziness.

For those that don't know Keefer Lake provides lodges at the cost of the ACC huts in Rogers but without the hordes of people. Excellent area for storm skiing as most of the skiing is well spaced tree skiing.
