Skied around Table Mountain on Sunday. We found 12" of new moderately bonded to the underneath ice crust. Wind slabs and crust in some areas.
We skied a line that was about 40 degrees and NE facing between some exposed rock and some sun exposure. The slope slid when isolated and ski cut. It seemed that between the sun and the exposed rock, there might have been enough heat to stop proper bonding. Slides had an 8" to 12" crown and only propagated where isolated and ski cut.
Other slopes in the shade at the same angle seemed to have better bonding. Slopes in the direct sun definitely showed avalanche activity.
