Made the trip to Shasta doubting the weather would cooperate, but held out hope.  Left Brewer Ck TH about 4am with stars quickly followed by high thickening clouds and rising fog/clouds both.  Wind was light-mod and had de-ja-vu of being blown back from the Shasta summit 2yrs ago.  Snow was hard and not encouraging.  Despite this we could see the summit and pushed on.  Sun poked out after passing the 11,000' mark, the wind died down after 12K and the climbing was great, but couldn't believe the snow would soften.  The weather continued to improve and it did soften.  Windy just on the summit block and foggy clouds wisped in and out, but fantastic day with a superb ride down.  Lucky to have Dad living in Redding, so had grub and a good sleep before the drive home on Sunday.  Will return winter or spring for another route on a great mtn!
boot, i was up there saturday skinning up the big snowfield up towards the hotlum headwall.  saw a few skiers coming down.  here's one of them, maybe it was you?

No, we were boarding, but great shot.  'Twas a great day!

aha, you were the two boarders from Tacoma that we ran into around 11K?  We were the two skiers skinning up the snowfield.

Steeleman - Welcome.
For those of you that don't know, we may have greatness in our midst.  This may very well be the same steeleman that was kind enough to host the now famous and classic DARKSIDE video for his very close associate, AT Anonymous.  If you haven't had the treat of watching this viddy it's well worth the download.

Sorry for the thread drift, Boot.  Congrads on nailing and riding Shasta.

yeah Steeleman that was us.  Very cool video; thanks Ron j.
