Sweet. Finally got a day and a half to go for the Mt Adams SW Chutes. The corn snow was 10/10, a bluebird day, a great descent with three new acquaintances. My 17th ski of Adams in 20 + years. The corn was smooth and just a couple of inches deep at 1 PM, bliss.

The snow ran out too soon in the valley, a few final traverses and turns at the base of the run with a complimentary volcanic dust base grind. There is extra bonus hiking with ski carry compared to other years. How I fondly recalled the June '04 skin up and descent down Morrison Cr to a short walk from the CG. Next year.

There was another group of four skiers at the TH who skied it after we did. The TH camp and South Route was very uncrowded considering the time of year and bluebird condiditons.

It could be good again for the weekend, just remember the extra bonus ski carry.
We made it into the chutes on the 4th as well

Rando - glad to hear the snow's smooth this year in the chutes.  Last year the lower half was like a war zone this time of year; remember that?
The extra hiking (or "bonus hiking" as you put it) is unfortunate but not surprising given the snow year. Thanks for the report.
Kyle - nice pictures... keep up the good work.
