Sitting around stewing about one inch of icy snow at my hiway 97 cabin, I decided to message Mike Rolfs (prolific skier of the good and bad) about where to find fresh snow. Knowing that he had climbed 2200 feet the day before to ski 150' of good snow - I had some reservations. His remarks about an "athletic" exit on "see through" ice didn't help much. "Traction Devices" for the trail???.............

Turned out to be a beautiful bluebird day with a wide variety of conditions. Many of the conditions encountered, might have taxed the patience of some - but not us! My new skis and skins are not new anymore - but the edges aren't broken. Low standards can create great days! I look forward to more days with Mike.

We found our patch of powder!

That was a fun day, Brian.  Thanks for the company and the inspiration.
