If you go touring with a low enough expectation, perhaps you will be happily surprised? This month has been a tough one for me, hoping for a December like last year. It seems that some folks have found nice powder, but only in selected parts of their tours.
Today we enjoyed 2-5" old powder on a firm base on NE to NW and shaded slopes 3100-5200'. Slopes that saw more sun the past few days were scratchy. Everywhere below 4000' required careful skiing to avoid thinly covered obstacles.

12/28 Pretty scratchy everywhere. Bad skiing for sure, on armstrong express slopes. Slightly better top half of chair 2, if you could find smooth untracked snow.
