Went up to skyline for a friends first tour.  Hoping to get a few runs in before the warming trend projected for later in the day, so we left home on the early side.  Above the lake the snow was a little heavy but skied really well,  we took three laps and around 12:30 the rain/ warming started to happen.   We try one more lap but snow was too heavy by then to be fun.  We quickly skied the cat track down to the parking lot and left before added traffic from ski resort.  All and All a nice first tour.
Bummer. You missed it by a day. Sat turned out to be so much better than expected. No crust, no rain, and much better coverage in the boulder fields. Kind of heavy wet 7" at the road became more like a foot higher up, and skied pretty well. Morning had a lot of moisture in the air, but by afternoon some kind of suction from the east started drying things out and the snow actually improved. Made a big day of it and didn't get to the car until after dark.
