Rondo Roundup 11/29/13

For this years installment I had planned on skiing up at Huntoon Point.  In years past I've found some really nice early season snow conditions........Well this years we had a hard time even finding our way around in the fog.
After lunch up at the Artist Point parking lot we decided to head down to the ski area and skin on up to the patrol hut at the top of chair one.  We cruised on back to the upper parking lot and called it a day.
The snow was fairly well consolidated, a quick and nasty shear block showed a 4 inch top layer that broke loose after considerable force was applied.  We did kick loose some fairly large snow pin wheels while skiing down the Blueberry chutes.
