Plan A for such a nice day would have been Paradise. Gate closed.
Plan B would have been Crystal. Lifts not running and really no snow there til mid mountain.
So Plan C to Chinook it was. And actually it worked out well. The W facing bowl under Naches was getting nicely softened in afternoon sun. Snow shallow but adequate. Many slopes had chunks or runnels but the one I was on was pretty clean. Good faux spring skiing with a soft inch over firm crust below. Took 5 laps on a 400 ish run that was low hanging fruit and didn't really wander around any further.
When sun went behind clouds just before setting things started to crust. Did some low angle touring just so could use up all the daylight there was that day. Pretty clouds. Phone camera was blurring / not focusing right, it would have been a good day for sky photos had I had a real camera along.
