Nice sunny low wind day. Longmire gate opened at 9. Conga line started up from Paradise at 940. Many of us hiked up pan face instead of trying to skin. Below 9000' skied creamy after 2pm all the way to the parking lot. Nisqually chute saw lots of skiers and was nice smooth 1-2" cornmeal except the main gut halfway down was 8-12" mush. Many family walkers to glacier vista too.
60F and it sure felt good.
Have they given up the idea of closing the downhill gate at 5pm? See a lot of cars in the lot still at 5:00 Anyone know what's up?

Boot, IIRC & IMN, the 5 p.m. closure goes along with a 7-day/week opening which begins after 21 December; we are still in the 2-day/week closure period. The overall rule remains "pay your money and take your chances."
