November 16, 2013, Twin Lakes

We had a great day out in the winter wonderland of Twin Lakes/Winchester Mtn area.  We parked about 5 miles from the Twin Lakes TH so most of our day was spent skinning the road.  No problem, we were just happy to be out in the snow!  We skinned above the lakes a little ways but early season kinks (cold hands, painful boots, tweaky hips) kept us from going too high or getting multiple laps in.  Good skiing down from the lakes between road sections and thankfully never had to don skins back to the car.

There were three off road vehicles that made it too the Lakes TH, interesting hobby these guys do all winter!  We passed them halfway up though!
