Nov 11, ONP Eagle
« on: 11/12/13, 09:27 AM »

Biked out through soft and patchy snow to 1/4 mile above Watehole until is became too deep for wheels.

Not a lot of cover but enough for some turns just south of the snow stakes. Grounded out more than a few times. Great day to be out but we need a dump!

Nice shoulder-season tour, Doug   Smiley
That north face of Obstruction Peak sure is a beast!

Okay… so I'm a little confused.  Went to hurricaneridge.com  and not sure if this info is for 2012 or 2013.  Anyone know?

Sorry 'bout that folks. Website has something about a ski swap this Sat, but nothing abt what is going on with an evening event this year. That indeed was last years.

The ski swap is this Saturday at the Vern Burton Community Center.

Nice work Doug! It's nice to see things turning white out that direction.  Cheesy

Here is the information on Winterfest:

Back to the original TR, did anyone note that runcle was pedaling uphill on SNOW, with skis on his back?  Way to Earn Your Turns   Cool
The only time I biked with skis it crushed my spirit (temporarily---we had overnight and mountaineering gear).

Thanks for the pat on the back guys! But, I must confess, I am a mere mortal. The bike is the real superhero. It has an electric assist that allows me to leap deep patches of snow in a single bound.

If only I could just get the cloaking effect to kick in I could get passed that dam gate, where  “the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man"
