Although this time of year yields long approaches with much hiking, the effort is always worth it. It's those days when a good outcome isn't guaranteed that often turn out to be the best.

This past friday my good friend Ryan and I skied off Mt. Daniel's three summits. A lot of the day was spent booting around as most of the south to west facing aspects were halfway melted out. Great preserved snow was found on North aspects and corn on anything in the sun. I had never skied out in the area and can't wait to go back out there.

Great trip and pictures!  This is one of my very favorite skis in the spring.

The fall seems a bit too much booting around for my taste, but then again, the spot is awesome.

EDIT: Here's a shot from June 04, you had a lot more rocks to navigate.

A+ Bravo!  Nice work skiing off all three summits!
