Mount Rainier National Park reopens road to Sunrise area<br><br>THE NEWS TRIBUNE<br>Last updated: June 16th, 2005 07:55 AM (PDT)<br><br>The road to the Sunrise area in Mount Rainier National Park has been opened. Superintendent Dave Uberuaga said the road to Sunrise, which is at an elevation of 6,400 feet, opened Saturday. <br>Park visitors are advised that no additional public facilities, other than restrooms, will be available until June 25, when the Sunrise Lodge and visitor center open for the season. <br><br>Snow patches remain in some areas. Visitors need to remember that unpredictable weather is common in the Cascade Mountains during spring, with the possibility of snow at higher elevations. Visitors should come to the park prepared for sudden weather changes. <br><br>The News Tribune
