Enticed by the bright winter white as seen from town, I investigated the snow situation at Mission Ridge.  I found skiable* snow from about 5400' on up to the Microwave tower at 6700'.  Coverage is poor and was disappearing as I watched it.  There was literally less snow covered terrain when I returned than when I passed it on the way up.

So, I'm not recommending skiing at the Ridge just yet, but I am reporting that with some creativity and a willingness to slide across bare spots, it is possible to ski about 1400 feet at our local area :)

Access Road below Bathtub:  Just about the right depth for Moxie.

You bet I did.

*skiable as in "I skied it". (not to be confused with desirable or safe)
You are the man!  I thought it looked pretty good from town.

If you're a bettin type, come down to South Lk.Tahoe's casinos. You can ski right across the road, at Heavenly.  Anyway- nice BD visor

Cool Mike!

I hiked up to Heather Pass with my kids last week and found about 18 inches of snow.  Your TR reminds of our short tour last season!  Hopefully I'll make it out that way again.
