Skiing in August should have a few stumbling blocks, and my ski on Bachelor had a few, but not that many.  Two hours of hiking earned me 1400 feet of skiing, and most of it was plenty good.  The first eight or ten turns were steep and firm, followed by a short carry, next came a rock strewn traverse, another carry, some great fall line skiing with great corn, another walk, and a fun little ribbon through the pumice field.  All in all a great ski, the trail up is very pleasant, wonderful views in every direction, and no shortage of brew pubs to celebrate August skiing in the sack, back in Bend.

Good effort.  I saw Bachelor a couple times in last few weeks.  Thought of bringing gear couple times.  Just didn't fit between the job, the fish, the job, the canoes, the single axle trailer hub failure, the lake...

Thanks for the report.

1400' that's a fully respectable ski!  Especially like the final narrow tongue of snow.  Way to go Jamie!

Nice dust tracks.      sp. Bachelor

corrected, spell check can't save me there.
