Went up to Monashee Lake for some weekend skiing. The approach trail is pretty brutal when carrying a full back. It utilizes debris flow channels to gain most of the vertical with poor footing. Once at the lake conditions were fantastic. The previous few days of cool weather had rebuilt the surface crust and we had 2-3 inches of corn on top of a very strong crust. Great area for summer skiing I will be back next year to nab the 2400ft continuous snow descent from Pinnacle Peak proper. Using a friends poorly adjusted skis negated that option sadly for this trip.
