Things lined up nicely in terms of partner, weather, etc to head up the valley from Hannegan trailhead and ski Ruth. Trail was clear to abt 1/2 mile below pass; we skinned-on at the campsite, then booted up to N. side of 5900 foot knoll. Steep exposed traverse around to E. side on knoll, then a hero skin on up to 7100 foot summit. Remarkable views of N. face Shuksan, as well as Nooksack cirque, etc. We skied right down the steeper chutes to the valley floor, 2900 feet of superb medium and high angle terrain. Snow was smooth at the top, small cups at the bottom. Booted up W. facing scree/snow slopes of 5900 foot knoll to a little over 5K to and skied out to camping area.
