- 'summer' conditions prevail on Lassen. still a good amt. of white stuff on the mtn proper, and select subpks. one needs to pack their gear to the snow.
Back in July of '09 there was an accident on the trail. A local area 9 yr. old boy was killed. I saw on the net, the Park Service was negligent with unstable rock-retaining walls on the trail. The boy and his sister were standing on one of the walls & it collapsed.
