June 7, 2013, Mt. Adams Crescent Glacier

Myikat and I got blown off the South Climb while going for the Southwest Chutes.  Gale-force winds and a lowered cloud ceiling turned us around at the Lunch Counter.  The front that came in Thursday night was clearly circling over Adams and north while the Columbia River and Hood were relatively unaffected except for winds.  the snow never corned up until the dirt-and-ash level.
The road to Cold Springs CG is in quite good shape, with the biggest ruts being the drainage ditches across the road.  Lots of dust, ash and charred logs from the big fire last year. 
We hiked in approach shoes for about 2 miles but were able to ski patches to about 1-1/2 miles from the car.
